Simulator Training, 4h FFS

Training Session (4 hours) will include a mix of areas where focus will be on Upset Prevention and Recovery and airport training Salzburg. Please review Salzburg OM-C and nav charts.

Aerodynamics

  • Aerodynamics (high and low altitudes)
  • Aeroplane performance (high and low altitudes)
  • Angle of attack (AOA) and stall awareness
  • Stick shaker or other stall-warning device activation (as applicable)
  • Aeroplane stability
  • Icing and contamination effects
  • Propeller slipstream

G-load awareness and management

  • Lateral g awareness (sideslip)

Energy Management

  • Kinetic energy vs potential energy vs chemical energy (power)

Flight path management.

  • Relationship between pitch, power and performance
  • Proper use of rudder

Recognition

  • Pitch/power/roll/yaw
  • Type-specific stall protection systems and cues
  • Criteria for identifying stalls and upsets

System malfunction

  • Engine/Propeller failure (partial or full)

Manual handling skills

  • Cross wind landings
  • Wind shear
